As 2025 draws to a close, this is the time when cultural critics of all stripes look back at the year that was to write up year-end reviews. I tend to think about my annual list of the city’s best new restaurants throughout the entire year, and, for the second year in a row, there were points in 2025 when I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to come up with enough great new restaurants to put together a full list.
