Industry Official Tells MPs He Regrets Giving Them ‘Mistaken Impression’ About Redacted Stellantis Contract

Deputy Industry Minister Philip Jennings told MPs on the government operations committee that he had no intention to “misrepresent” when he told the committee that Stellantis had requested the redacted version of the contract be presented to the committee in November.
The committee is currently reviewing the government’s billions in subsidies to the vehicle manufacturing company, which recently announced it is moving production of its Jeep Compass line from Ontario to Illinois.
“I regret that the committee was left with a mistaken impression,” Jennings said as he testified before the House of Commons government operations committee on Dec. 9, which was first reported by Blacklock’s Reporter. “I certainly had no intention to misrepresent.
