Toronto police say they’ve located the mother of an infant who was found in the Yonge Street and Broadway Avenue area.
Toronto Police Service spokesperson Stephanie Miceli said the baby was found on Dec. 21 around 10:40 a.m.
“A newborn baby was located and taken to hospital. The baby’s mother has also been located. Both are receiving care,” Miceli told The Epoch Times in an email.
She said police would not be releasing further details.
The incident comes about two months after Longueuil, Que., police reported on two separate incidents involving infants that were abandoned.
In the first instance, a newborn was left on the doorstep of a Longueuil residence on Oct. 5, according to police. The premature baby boy was found on the porch of the home around 11 p.m. after someone rang the doorbell and ran off….
