Senate Democrats will bring a bill to a vote next week to extend enhanced Affordable Care Act premium tax credits for three years, setting up a vote they say is the last chance to keep health insurance costs from jumping after Jan. 1.
Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said on the floor Thursday afternoon that the measure is a “clean three year extension of the current ACA tax credits” and that every Democrat will vote for it.
The vote is planned for Thursday, Dec. 11.
“Why are we here? The country is standing on the edge of a healthcare cliff,” Schumer told reporters later in a press conference alongside Sens. Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.), Peter Welch (D-Vt.), and Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.)….
