Gov. Gavin Newsom said California did not face any “imminent threats” after a news report stated that the Iranian regime planned to launch retaliatory drone attacks on his state.
“While we are not aware of any imminent threats at this time, we remain prepared for any emergency in our state,” Newsom wrote in an apparent response to the reporting by ABC News on Wednesday afternoon.
Newsom, who has been critical of the war in Iran, said he is in contact with security and intelligence officials who are “actively monitoring reports of potential threats tied to the Middle East conflict.”
