Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has postponed an upcoming meeting with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in the United States just hours before his scheduled departure, the Pentagon has said.
Gallant was scheduled to meet with Austin at the Pentagon on Wednesday to discuss ongoing security developments in the Middle East amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran, as the Jewish state weighs options to respond to Tehran’s missile attack last week.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Pentagon Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh told reporters that Israel’s Ministry of Defense had contacted the Pentagon earlier in the day to inform them that Gallant’s visit to Washington was canceled….
