A civil rights group is suing Washington state in federal court over a homeownership program that aids people only if they belong to specific racial categories.
The legal complaint in Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism Inc. (FAIR) v. Walker was filed on Oct. 29 in federal district court in Seattle.
The plaintiff, FAIR, is a nonprofit organization that says it “advocates for the rights of all people who are denied equal protection, free speech and other essential liberties, regardless of whether they are members of underrepresented groups.”
The defendant, Steve Walker, is executive director of the Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC)….
