A search for two missing brothers at a lake in Northern California turned into a recovery effort by Dec. 18, according to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.
Wesley Cornett, 17, and Andruw Cornett, 19, went missing Saturday while duck hunting at Thermalito Afterbay, a pool downstream of Lake Oroville. A search becomes a recovery when it is determined the missing are probably dead.
Search and rescue teams, law enforcement, and state fire rescue resources were out at the bay again Thursday searching a specific location using sonar equipment, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Megan McMann.
