Premiers from around the country are responding to U.S. tariffs that President Donald Trump has put into place as of Feb. 1, with all of them supporting retaliatory measures.
Trump has been saying he will impose 25 percent tariffs on Canada and Mexico since November 2024. He said the two countries need to tighten their borders and stop the flow of illegal drugs and immigrants from crossing into the United States.
On Feb. 1, Trump announced 25 percent tariffs on most exports from Canada, and a 10 percent tariff on energy exports, set to begin on Feb. 4.
