California and Texas dominate a new ranking of America’s most vulnerable cities for house fires in 2025, with multiple cities from both states placing in the top 20.
The top three most vulnerable cities were Pomona, California, followed by Detroit, and El Paso, Texas, according to the latest study by HomeGnome.
Eleven California cities were listed among the top 20 on a list of 200 cities. Aside from Pomona, on the list were Oxnard (4th), Glendale (7th), Santa Clarita (10th), Visalia (11th), and Lancaster (13th). Ranking 16–20 are Palmdale, Torrance, Long Beach, Rancho Cucamonga, and Fontana.
