Officials in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia warned that they are investigating a possible measles exposure at the Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia involving an individual who recently traveled internationally.
Health officials in Maryland and Washington said that the person who contracted measles is a resident of Maryland, and was returning home from international travel. Officials in Maryland said that the person specifically lives in Howard County, near Washington and Baltimore.
They stressed the case is not connected to a measles outbreak in Texas and New Mexico that has resulted in more than 200 cases in recent weeks.
Maryland health officials said that the individual traveled through the Washington Dulles International Airport international arrivals area between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5. Officials with DC Health also said the person visited the airport’s Terminal A and was “on transportation to the main terminal and in the baggage claim area.”…
