After the votes in the Quebec riding of Terrebonne were validated, it has been determined that Bloc Québécois MP Nathalie Sinclair-Desgagné has won re-election, reducing the Liberal Party’s seat count to 168.
Sinclair-Desgagné said in a social media statement that she had come out with a lead of 44 votes and that a judicial recount would likely take place. “Thank you for your continued support and stay tuned for the future. I hope to have the honour to represent Terrebonne again in the coming years,” she said.
The initial results from the April 28 election showed that Liberal candidate Tatiana Auguste had beaten Sinclair-Desgagné by just 35 votes. But the new results by Elections Canada showed that Sinclair-Desgagné actually beat Auguste by 44 votes….
