A jury on Wednesday found Karen Read not guilty of second-degree murder in the death of her boyfriend but guilty of a lesser charge of drunken driving.
The decision in the highly watched case comes almost a year after a separate jury failed to deliver a verdict over Read’s involvement in the January 2022 death of John O’Keefe, a Boston police officer, and resulted in a judge declaring a mistrial.
