The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) meets on June 25 and 26 at the CDC’s headquarters in Atlanta.
The ACIP comprises leading medical and public health experts who advise the CDC on the safety, effectiveness, and clinical necessity of vaccines. On June 9, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced a clean sweep of the ACIP to reestablish public confidence in vaccine science. The CDC removed the 17 sitting members of the ACIP and replaced them with eight new members.
