A federal judge on Friday ordered the Trump administration to stop carrying out immigration enforcement arrests without probable cause in seven California counties.
The decision followed a lawsuit filed by illegal immigrant advocacy groups, which accused the administration of targeting people in Southern California based on their race and of arresting people without a warrant amid the federal government’s ongoing efforts to stop illegal immigration.
The groups have sought a temporary restraining order aiming to block federal law enforcement authorities from carrying out such arrests, which the judge has granted in the recent ruling.
