Air Canada Launches New ‘Refund Assistance’ Program After Strike

Air Canada is launching a new “refund assistance” program to cover transportation expenses for some customers affected by its flight attendants’ labour action.
Passengers are able to fill out a new online refund assistance form to request a refund if they only completed part of their trip with Air Canada or had to rely on an alternative method of transportation due to the strike.
Those who booked directly with Air Canada are able to fill out the form, while the airline says that those who booked through Aeroplan, a travel agency, or another airline cannot.
The airline announced on Aug. 19 that it would introduce a policy on Aug. 20 to cover transportation expenses that customers have incurred to get to their destination during the labour disruption….
