Brampton Man Charged With Firearms Offences After Muskoka Gun Parties Go Viral

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid its first charges as it investigates the “careless” use of firearms by a group of men in a wooded area north of Toronto.
Gurkanwal Singh of Brampton, Ont., was arrested on Sept. 3 and charged with two counts of careless use of a firearm, the OPP’s detachment in Bracebridge announced on Sept. 4. Police also seized the firearms licence and the weapons of the accused.
Singh is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Oct. 7. An individual found guilty of careless use of a firearm is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years….
