The suspect in the assassination of Charlie Kirk is Tyler Robinson, from Washington, Utah, officials confirmed on Friday morning.
“We got him,” said Utah Gov. Spencer Cox in a news conference, confirming Robinson is the suspected assassin.
A family member told local officials that Robinson had spoken about Kirk in recent days, Cox said, adding that Robinson had sent messages on the Discord platform.
The governor said that authorities believe that Robinson acted alone. But an investigation is ongoing, he added.
“Investigators interviewed a family member of Robinson who stated that Robinson had become more political in recent years,” Cox said. “The family member referenced a recent incident in which Robinson came to dinner prior to September 10, and in that conversation with another family member, Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming” to Utah Valley University, he added….
