The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced a recall of approximately 98,916 pounds of catfish fillet products produced without the benefit of federal inspection, according to a Sept. 16 updated recall notice by the agency.
The recalled products were from Quality Poultry & Seafood, Inc., an establishment based in Mississippi, and produced between Sept. 2, 2024, and Sept. 5, 2025, bearing various labels.
The items include “Varied Catfish Miscut Fillets,” “Farmed Raised Catfish,” “Irregular Catfish Shank Fillet,” “Catfish Fillet Stuff W/ Crabmeat Dressing,” among others. They were sold in translucent plastic bag packages and cardboard boxes in restaurants and retail locations in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana….
