Toronto Public School Board to Charge More Than $3,000 for IB High School Program

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) says it will be charging students to take part in its International Baccalaureate (IB) high school program, in which students complete a pre-university curriculum spanning two years.
There are currently 377 schools in Canada that offer the IB Diploma Program, according to the International Baccalaureate Organization, which supplies and assesses the program’s final exams. Globally, the program is offered in more than 5,800 schools in 162 countries.
There are five schools that offer the IB program in the TDSB region. The board said the number of students in the program is about 2 percent of all students in the region. Statistics from 2020 show there were 1,288 student in the IB program within TDSB, while the total student population was 71,766….
