Uzbekistan signed an $8.5 billion deal with Boeing on Sept. 22 to buy 22 Dreamliner aircraft, in what the aircraft maker described as “the single largest order in the airline’s history.”
The agreement was made following Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s recent visit to the United States.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced the agreement in a Truth Social post, noting that Uzbekistan Airways will purchase 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft under the deal.
Trump said that he expects the deal to create more than 35,000 jobs in the United States.
