BC Ostrich Farm Owners Say Federal Agency Told Them to Vacate or Face Arrest by RCMP

The owners of a B.C. ostrich farm subject to a cull order say they have been told by a Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) official that they must leave by Sept. 23 or face arrest by police.
The CFIA didn’t respond to a request for comment.
RCMP officers accompanied CFIA staff to Universal Ostrich Farms on the morning of Sept. 22 to execute a warrant. The farm, located in Edgewood, B.C., has been appealing an order by the CFIA to cull their flock of 399 ostriches after 69 of their birds died late last year, two of whom positive for avian influenza in PCR tests….
