The Trump administration has asked the Supreme Court to look at whether President Donald Trump’s birthright citizenship executive order is constitutional.
A document seeking review of the order was filed with the nation’s highest court late on Sept. 26, Reuters reported.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) said on Aug. 8 that it planned to ask the Supreme Court to review the constitutionality of the executive order that seeks to terminate birthright citizenship.
In a filing with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington in Seattle, attorneys for the DOJ told a federal judge at that time about the agency’s plans to petition the Supreme Court about the order….
