President Donald Trump has stepped up the pressure on the global furniture industry to shift production from China and other countries to the United States, after raising concerns over a flood of imports that have resulted in the complete loss of business for some states. On Sept. 29, Trump announced that he will introduce new tariffs targeting countries that export furniture to the United States, as well as specific furniture products.
“In order to make North Carolina, which has completely lost its furniture business to China, and other Countries, GREAT again, I will be imposing substantial Tariffs on any Country that does not make its furniture in the United States,” the president wrote in a Truth Social post….
