Demonstrators are expected to hit the streets nationwide on Oct. 18 to protest against President Donald Trump’s administration.
Large-scale events for “No Kings” protests are planned in cities including Washington, New York City, Boston, New Orleans, and Atlanta.
The event’s website states that rallies are expected all over the country “to show the world: America has no kings, and the power belongs to the people.”
The protests are scheduled amid a federal government shutdown resulting from an impasse between Republicans and Democrats on government funding proposals.
The protests’ hundreds of official sponsors, or “partners,” include the American Civil Liberties Union, Reproductive Freedom for All, Human Rights Campaign, MoveOn.org, People for the American Way, and an array of labor unions, according to the website….
