Coachella Mayor Arrested on Felony Charges

A California mayor was arrested Oct. 28 on felony charges of conflict of interest and perjury, according to Riverside County jail records.
Coachella Mayor Steven Hernandez was charged with five counts of conflict of interest, including one felony—and five counts of perjury—all felonies, the records show.
Hernandez, 42, is scheduled to appear in Superior Court at Larson Justice Center in Indio on Oct. 30. His bail was set at $112,500.
Further details about the grand jury indictment have not yet been released.
