The RCMP has launched a new website that allows Canadians to report incidents of fraud and cybercrime, just days after the Liberal government tabled its new National Anti-Fraud Strategy as part of its budget.
The Mounties said the new website will be administered by its National Cybercrime Coordination Centre, as well as the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, and serve as a “central repository of fraud and cybercrime reports from across the country.”
“The information gathered from these reports will help police solve individual cases, disrupt cybercriminal activities, form a more complete picture of how these threats are affecting Canadians and ultimately prevent further victimization,” the RCMP said in a Nov. 7 statement….
