The union representing about 16,000 Alberta hospital workers, including licensed practical nurses and health care aides, says its members will go on strike this weekend.
“Mediation was not successful. We did not reach a tentative agreement nor receive recommendations from our mediator,” the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) said in a Nov. 19 post on its website.
The union said it delivered strike notice in the morning of Nov. 19.
