Vancouver Police Seize Grenade Launcher, Drugs in Downtown Eastside Rooming House

Vancouver police have confiscated several firearms and various other weapons, including a grenade launcher and bull whips, during a recent raid at a rooming house in the city’s Downtown Eastside.
The rooming house was believed to be fuelling “a supply line of contraband throughout the neighbourhood,” the Vancouver Police Department said in a Nov. 27 press release.
“Though street crime and disorder has decreased, the proliferation of violence and weapons in some residential buildings continues to put the neighbourhood at risk,” Sgt. Steve Addison said in the statement.
Members of the force’s beat enforcement team launched an investigation on Nov. 13 after a 42-year-old man was injured in an assault near Carrall Street and East Cordova. The man is said to be recovering after receiving treatment in hospital….
