Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe says B.C. Premier David Eby shouldn’t be casting blame on others when a Saskatchewan potash company, Nutrien, decided recently that it would build a $1 billion export terminal in Washington state rather than at a port in British Columbia.
“When someone makes a decision not to invest in your area. You should have a look in the mirror, not start to blame others,” Moe said during an interview on the Evan Bryan Show on Nov. 28.
Moe made the comments when asked to respond to Eby’s criticism a day earlier. Eby had said Moe should have discussed with him about the problems Nutrien was having getting its potash to market. He said the Saskatchewan premier has instead chosen to speak with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith about the potential new oil pipeline stretching from Alberta to the B.C. coast, as recently announced by Smith and Prime Minister Mark Carney.
