U.S. President Donald Trump said he would “discuss trade” with Prime Minister Mark Carney and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, as the leaders were scheduled to meet later in the day at the FIFA World Cup draw event in Washington on Dec. 5.
Carney arrived in Washington, D.C., on the morning of Dec. 5 to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final draw ceremony.
The Prime Minister’s Office said on Dec. 4 that Carney would briefly meet with Trump at the Kennedy Center, where the event was held, and was also expected to meet with Sheinbaum.
The event marked the first time all three leaders were in the same place at the same time, ahead of the review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) on trade set to take place next year….
