Abbotsford Floodwaters Recede but More Rain in Store for BC’s Fraser Valley

The City of Abbotsford says floodwaters are receding with some areas seeing “significant improvement,” but Highway 1 is still closed and it’s warning drivers against trying to get around flooded areas.
The city says in a statement that water continues to flow across the border from the Nooksack River in Washington state.
The statement says side roads are still flooded and advises drivers that they’ll get stuck trying to back out, noting that online maps are showing inaccurate information about certain side routes being open.
It says the highway remains closed and there is “currently no way through” Abbotsford and Chilliwack to get to the eastern parts of B.C….
