The U.S. economy expanded faster than economists’ expectations in the third quarter of 2025. According to delayed data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis released on Dec. 23, the third quarter real GDP growth rate was 4.3 percent, which followed a 3.8 percent expansion in the second quarter. Before the official government economic data was released, the Atlanta Federal Reserve’s widely watched GDPNow Model had estimated 3.5 percent in GDP growth for the July to September period.
