8 Iranian Women Escape Execution After Trump Urges Clemency

Eight Iranian women are no longer facing execution, following a request from President Donald Trump urging leniency for the protesters.
Trump announced that the women would no longer be hanged, in an April 22 post to Truth Social, calling it “very good news.”
“I have just been informed that the eight women protestors who were going to be executed tonight in Iran will no longer be killed,” Trump’s post said.
Of the eight, four will be released immediately, according to Trump, and the other four will receive a one-month prison sentence. 
“I very much appreciate that Iran, and its leaders, respected my request, as President of the United States, and terminated the planned execution,” he said. …
