Police Offer Reward in Search for Suspect in Robberies, Shooting

Toronto police are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in a string of robberies, including a shooting and robbery at Fairview Mall.
The suspect, identified as Kyle Douglas Prouse, 53, is allegedly connected to a series of robberies across Ontario and one in Quebec, according to a police news release.
The robberies and break-and-enters date back to 2023, involving at least five jewelry stores—four in Toronto and one in Brossard, Quebec—and two Toronto banks.
In the most recent incident, police responded at 10:05 a.m. on April 21 to reports of a shooting at Fairview Mall.
Police say a male suspect entered a jewelry store at the mall and stole a quantity of merchandise. A member of the mall’s security team then confronted the suspect, during which the security officer was shot. The suspect fled the area in a white van, travelling southbound on Don Mills Road….
