WASHINGTON— Nearly 150 pages of newly declassified FBI documents paint the clearest picture yet of the relationship between a suspected Chinese Communist Party (CCP) spy and a U.S. congressman, including sexual seduction, illicit campaign donations, and the placement of interns used to influence American politics.
Former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), who resigned from his role in April after sexual allegations involving a former staffer surfaced, is the focus of the files released by the White House Government Transparency Task Force on Aug. 17.
New details outline his dealings with suspected spy Christine Fang, who went by Fang Fang, including admissions from Swalwell that he had a sexual relationship with her before he was elected to Congress.
