Chrysler Recalls 265,000 Rams for Loss of Power Steering Assist

Chrysler (FCA US) has issued a recall of 265,512 vehicles due to a possible loss of power steering assist, which could increase the risk of an accident.
In its report posted on Oct. 7, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said that water may enter the electric power steering wiring harness, which could disable the power steering assist system.
The failure could increase the effort required to control the vehicle, which could lead to a loss of directional control, possibly causing a crash.
Affected models include certain 2022–2026 Ram 1500 ProMaster, Ram 2500 ProMaster and Ram 3500 ProMaster vehicles, as well as certain 2024–2026 Ram 3500 electric vehicles. …
