Republican Rep. Jeff Hurd Narrowly Wins Another Term in Colorado US House Seat

Rep. Jeff Hurd (R-Colo.) has won another term in the U.S. House representing a district that covers southwest Colorado.
The Associated Press on Nov. 6 called the race to represent Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District for Hurd, who is in the midst of his first term.
Hurd, a lawyer, drew 49.29 percent of the vote, or 163,655 votes, according to unofficial results from Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold. His Democratic opponent, Dwayne L. Romero, received 157,523 votes, or 47.44 percent.
Hurd and Romero did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
“This race is close, and ballots are still being counted,” Hurd said on social media on Nov. 4. “We’re going to give our county clerks and election workers the time they need to do their jobs. Every vote should be counted, and every voter deserves to have their voice heard. We won’t speculate about the outcome while that process continues.”…
