Brampton fire destroys 1 home, another damaged, explosions heard

Witnesses say they heard explosions at the scene of a residential fire in Brampton that destroyed one house and badly damaged another, but so far Peel Regional Police say they aren’t treated the blaze as suspicious.

Brampton Fire was called to the Van Scott Drive and McLaughlin Road area on Thursday afternoon after reports of homes on fire.

The cause is still under investigation.

Photos posted to X show the dramatic extent of the damage as firefighters drenched the residences.

Peel paramedics are on scene, but so far no injuries have been reported.

Area roads are closed and drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
