Rafina stands at a critical crossroads. The proposed development of its port promises economic opportunities, but concerns are growing about the way expansion is being planned and its impact on the city. Increased traffic, congestion, pollution, noise and pressure on infrastructure already affect the daily lives of residents, while the natural environment remains vulnerable. Citizens deserve development that improves their future rather than undermines their quality of life. Mayor Dimitra Tseva supports progress and recognizes the importance of a modern, functional port. At the same time, she has made clear that development cannot come at the expense of environmental protection or the rights and well-being of residents. Rafina needs sustainable planning, transparency and meaningful public participation to achieve responsible growth.
