Two Air Canada employees have been arrested as part of an RCMP investigation into cocaine and cannabis trafficking through Montreal–Trudeau International Airport.
The investigation was launched in May after the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) intercepted 62.5 kilograms of cocaine that was concealed in backpacks on a flight from Punta Cana, the Eastern Region RCMP said in an Aug. 26 press release. Officers also confiscated 56 kilograms of cannabis over the course of the probe.
Search warrants were executed at two homes and a vehicle in the Greater Montreal area during the early morning hours of Aug. 26, police said. A search was also conducted at the employees’ work base in Dorval with Air Canada’s cooperation….
