Bruce Banman 6th MLA to leave BC Conservative Caucus in August

Bruce Banman has announced his departure from the B.C. Conservative Party to serve as an Independent, citing concerns about the party’s leadership. He is the sixth MLA to leave the party in the past two weeks.
“After numerous conversations with many of my constituents, it has become clear under the new leadership and direction of the Conservative Party of BC, an NDP win is becoming increasingly likely,” Banman said in an Aug. 28 statement posted on social media.
The Abbotsford South MLA said the party needed to focus on affordability, housing, healthcare, and public safety. He encouraged other B.C. Conservative MLAs to also leave the party to sit as independents….
