The Federal Aviation Administration is investing $870 million aimed at improving airport infrastructure, boosting safety, and providing American citizens with more family-friendly features when they travel by air.
The investments will be made through 339 grants in 44 states and two territories, the Department of Transportation (DOT) said in an Aug. 4 statement. Projects being supported by the investment include $289 million for the Los Angeles International Airport to set up a new terminal access road, $50 million for the Miami International Airport for reconstructing the terminal roof, and $9.1 million to the Akron-Canton Airport in Ohio aimed at rehabilitating passenger bridges and rebuilding certain key airport facilities….
