Nearly nine in 10 Canadians surveyed said they are confident they can identify fraud, even though more than half admitted to online behaviours that could leave them vulnerable to scams, according to a new poll.
Just under half (46 percent) of those surveyed said they encounter fraud attempts weekly or even daily, the poll, conducted by Léger for TD Bank Group, shows. A little over half (52 percent) said they engage in behaviours online that put them at increased risk. These include accessing bank accounts using public wifi connections, opening email attachments and links from unknown senders, and downloading and installing apps from sources they are unfamiliar with. …
