Starbucks Cuts Hundreds of Corporate Jobs at Seattle Headquarters

Starbucks plans to layoff 224 employees from its corporate headquarters in Seattle as the company makes organizational changes and completes an expansion in Nashville, Tennessee.
The global coffee chain filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN, notice filed with Washington state on Aug. 20, detailing the planned layoffs at the company’s 2401 Utah Ave. office.
The workforce reduction includes about 120 employees who didn’t want to move to the new Tennessee office, Starbucks stated in the notice.
“Employees electing to relocate are not being separated,” Executive Vice President Sara Kelly said in the notice.
Another 104 employees in Seattle and other markets lost their jobs because of a corporate restructuring that started in May….
