Taylor Farms Recalls Products With Jalapeños Over Possible Salmonella Contamination

Taylor Farms said on Aug. 9 it had voluntarily recalled finished products containing jalapeños over concerns they may be contaminated with salmonella—a bacteria that can cause gastrointestinal illness.
The recalled products include salsa and guacamole. Taylor Farms said it ordered the recall after being notified that Coast Citrus Distributors was recalling the peppers.
The company said it stopped sourcing products from a farmer based in Sinaloa, Mexico, who also supplies to Coast Citrus Distributors and has been identified as a potential source in the salmonella outbreak.
“To date, Taylor Fresh Foods is not aware of any reported illnesses linked to its products containing jalapeños,” the company said in a statement….
