A suspect wanted for the “unprovoked” stabbing of a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) employee on Aug. 14 has been arrested and charged by Toronto police.
Anthony Christopher David McLaughlin, 36, turned himself in on Aug. 15 and has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon or imitation weapon, according to an Aug. 16 police news release.
The Toronto Police Service says the TTC worker was walking alone on the sidewalk in the Yonge Street and Bloor Street area at around 8:10 a.m. on Aug. 14 when he was approached from behind and stabbed. The attacker then fled the scene, and the TTC worker was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release. …
