The United States is planning to use oil sourced as a result of a deal with Venezuela to fill the Strategic National Reserve, which has fallen to near-record lows in recent days, President Donald Trump announced on Sunday.
The process “will begin very shortly, and is a Gift from Venezuela to the People of the United States,” Trump wrote in a Sunday morning post on Truth Social.
Days before, Trump said on Aug. 29 that the United States and the South American country came to an agreement that will allow the U.S. government take control of around 65 billion barrels of the country’s oil reserves….
