The Tsawwassen First Nation says it has ended a Truth and Reconciliation Day event that was in progress following a “critical” incident in which police say four pedestrians were struck by a vehicle.
The First Nation issued a “Civil Emergency” alert after the incident occurred at the Tsawwassen Mills shopping area, according to Emergency Info B.C.
“An incident is currently in progress that has ended our Truth & Reconciliation event,” the says the alert, posted at 10:59 a.m. on Sept. 30. “Participants are asked to walk back the way we came and stay out of the area.”
