FCA US (Chrysler) is recalling 328,381 vehicles because real coil springs that may have been incorrectly installed could detach from the vehicle while driving, increasing the risk of an accident.
According to a report posted on Sept. 8 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), vehicles affected include 2021–2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L models, 2022–2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE models.

Safety risk letters to owners of possibly affected vehicles are expected to be mailed on Sept. 29. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available….
